Automatic Call Recorder — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Appliqato Software Ltd. (“Appliqato,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in Automatic Call Recorder (the “App”), including free and store-specific versions. Features and third-party services may differ by App version, store, device, Android version, and country.

In this document, “app store or distributor” means Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps, Huawei AppGallery, an Appliqato direct-download website, or another source from which you obtained the App.

1. Audio recordings and related information

Depending on the App version, device, Android version, and applicable restrictions, the App may record phone calls and ordinary voice audio. It may also allow you to manage, play, organize, import, share, or back up audio recordings stored on your device.

Audio files and related information—including titles, phone numbers or contact labels where applicable, dates and times, duration or call type, file names, notes, comments, bookmarks, and other recording metadata—are normally stored on your device. We do not upload or store your recording audio on Appliqato servers.

You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to recording phone calls, conversations, and other audio. This includes any duty to notify or obtain consent from participants.

2. Device permissions and accessibility

Depending on the version and features you use, the App may request access to the microphone to record call or voice audio; phone state, call information, or the call log to detect and organize calls; contacts; notifications; files or media; the ability to display controls or caller alerts over other apps; and Android accessibility features.

When offered and enabled, the Android Accessibility Service is used to support phone-call recording and identify callers on supported devices. The display-over-other-apps permission is used for recording controls or caller alerts. These features do not give Appliqato remote access to your device.

The App uses each permission only for the purpose explained when it asks for that permission. You can refuse a permission or revoke it later in Android settings, but features that need it may stop working.

If contact access is available and enabled, the App may read contact names, phone numbers, contact identifiers, and contact photos on your device. It uses them to match calls or recordings with contacts, display contact details, and let you select or filter contacts where those features are available. We do not upload your address book to Appliqato servers.

If you enable the “Built-in recorder” feature and grant the required access, the App accesses the folder where your device’s built-in call recorder stores its recordings, if such a recorder is available. The App automatically imports compatible recordings and may use the file name to identify a phone number or contact name associated with the recording. If the file name contains a phone number and you grant Contacts permission, the App may match that number with a contact on your device.

3. Optional cloud backup

If you choose to connect a supported third-party cloud storage service, the App can transfer audio files and related information to your own account with that provider. Depending on the App version and where you downloaded it, the supported cloud storage service may be Google Drive or Dropbox. These files and related information are not uploaded to or stored on Appliqato servers.

A cloud backup can include the audio file and related information stored with it, such as a title or contact label, phone number where applicable, date, time, duration or call type, file name, notes, comments, bookmarks, and other metadata. The selected cloud provider processes and stores this information under your account and its own privacy policy.

Disconnecting a cloud account stops future access but does not automatically delete files already stored there. You can manage or delete those files through the App where supported or directly in your cloud account.

4. Android automatic backup

Android automatic backup is enabled for the App. Depending on your Android version, device, Google account, and backup settings, Android may back up the App database and settings to your Google account and restore them on another device.

Android automatic backup may also include audio recordings, depending on Android’s backup settings and size limits. The backup may also include the App database and settings, such as phone numbers, contact names or labels, dates, notes, and cloud-connection information or credentials stored by the App.

Android Auto Backup is normally limited to 25 MB per app and is subject to Android’s selection, device, account, and backup rules. If the eligible data exceeds the platform quota, Android may not create the cloud backup. This Android backup is separate from the optional audio-file backup described above.

Google processes Android backup data under its own policies. You can review or change device-backup settings in Android or your Google account.

5. Advertising and consent choices

The App may display advertisements. The advertising service depends on where the App was downloaded:

  • Google Play: advertisements are displayed through Google AdMob. The App also initializes the AppLovin SDK at startup, but AppLovin is not selected to display advertisements in this version.

  • Direct download, Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Xiaomi GetApps: AppLovin.

  • Huawei AppGallery: Huawei Ads when Huawei Mobile Services are available; otherwise AppLovin.

The Google Play version includes the Meta Audience Network mediation adapter. Meta may process advertising data if that partner is enabled in the production AdMob configuration.

Advertising providers may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location derived from it, interactions with the App and advertisements, diagnostic information, and fraud-prevention signals. They do not receive recording audio or address-book contents from the App for advertising.

For versions downloaded from Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps, and Huawei AppGallery:

  • Users detected in Europe: The App presents consent choices before consent-gated processing starts.

  • Users detected outside Europe: Advertising may start without prior consent.

The versions downloaded from Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or an Appliqato direct-download website do not currently show that in-app consent screen before their advertising services start. Advertising choices may still be available through Android, account, or provider settings.

6. Analytics and crash reporting

The versions downloaded from Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps, and Huawei AppGallery use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics:

  • Users detected in Europe: Sharing begins only after the required consent.

  • Users detected outside Europe: Sharing is enabled by default after you accept the App’s terms. You can turn it off in Settings using Share usage and crash data.

Firebase Analytics may process app-use and lifecycle events, App and device information, identifiers, approximate geographic information derived from the IP address, information about the app store or distributor, and the selected cloud storage provider. Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports, stack traces, relevant App state, device and operating-system information, and an installation identifier. We use this information to understand App use, improve reliability, and diagnose crashes.

These Firebase services are not used to upload or store recording audio, notes, bookmarks, address-book contents, or cloud files. The versions downloaded from Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or an Appliqato direct-download website do not use Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

7. App stores, licenses, and update checks

The app store or distributor may process account, download, purchase, license, device, and technical information under its own privacy policy. If you make a purchase through an app store or distributor, the payment is processed by that provider. Appliqato does not receive your full payment-card details.

The direct-download version contacts an Appliqato server to check whether an update is available. The server may receive the IP address, request time, and technical request information. We use this information to provide update information, operate the service, and protect it from abuse.

8. Storage, retention, and deletion

During normal use, local recordings can be deleted in two ways:

  • Manually: You can delete recordings yourself.

  • Automatically from the Inbox: When the Inbox limit set in the App settings is exceeded, the App automatically deletes the oldest unsaved recordings.

Saved recordings (recordings you move from the Inbox to Saved) are not deleted by this automatic Inbox cleanup.

Deleted recordings are moved to the App’s Trash before permanent deletion. You can restore them or permanently delete them from the Trash. The App also automatically and permanently deletes recordings from the Trash according to its built-in deletion rules.

Uninstalling the App or deleting its data may remove local recordings and related information. It does not automatically delete copies already stored in your cloud account.

When you delete a recording in the App, the local recording is moved to the Trash and its cloud copy is deleted by default. You can choose to keep the cloud copy. You can also delete cloud copies directly from your cloud account.

Advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, app-store, update, Android-backup, and cloud providers used by your App version retain information according to their own policies and your choices. Appliqato retains information it controls only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service or support, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or protect the service.

You can, where applicable:

  • delete local recordings and App data.

  • remove cloud copies through the App or directly from your cloud account.

  • disconnect a cloud account.

  • change App permissions in Android settings.

  • change available advertising, consent, analytics, or crash-reporting choices.

  • manage Android backup through your device or Google account.

  • contact us about a privacy request.

9. Legal bases and your privacy rights

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on providing features you request, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in security, fraud prevention, support, service operation, and improvement, balanced against your rights.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Most recording content is stored on your device or in a cloud account you select, so you may need to use the App, device, or cloud-provider controls to manage it.

For advertising choices, you may also use controls offered in the App where available, Android settings, your Google account, or the advertising provider. Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, you may use those controls or contact us.

10. Children

The App is not directed to children who are not permitted to use it without permission from a parent or legal guardian under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Appliqato servers. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review the request.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we control. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Third-party providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their policies, contractual measures, and safeguards required by applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top shows when the policy was last revised. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
